A 25-year-old Georgetown man was charged with attempted murder following an overnight shooting, according to Deputy Russell Goodale, public information officer with the sheriff’s office.
Corey Richard Tilton was arrested Wednesday night after police were called about 11 p.m. to 117 Missroon St., for a shooting, Goodale said. Deputies learned Jamie Ward argued with Tilton before the incident. Ward was shot in the abdomen and taken to the Georgetown Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Tilton left the area after the incident and was arrested without incident a short time later, Goodale said. Tilton is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center and awaiting a bond hearing.
