Myrtle Beach police intervene in couple’s argument about food stains

A 56-year-old Myrtle Beach man told police his girlfriend threatened him with a knife during an argument about food stains on his clothing, according to a police report.

The man told police that about 6 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of 14th Avenue South his 58-year-old girlfriend accused him of cheating on her based on food stains she found on his pants when she went to do the laundry, police said.

The man said they argued and he denied cheating on the woman. The man said when he stood up to get the bag of clothing; the woman grabbed a knife and said she would cut him if he hit her, according to the report. The man denied touching the woman.

The woman said she confronted her boyfriend about him cheating on her, according to the report. She said the man threatened to hit her and then she grabbed the knife. Police separated the couple, and the man left for the night until they could resolve the issue.
