A Myrtle Beach woman was ordered to complete drug court or face three years in prison on charges of drug possession, purse snatching and failure to stop for police, according to court records.
Erin Christine Topper, 30, pleaded guilty to drug possession, purse snatching and failure to stop for a blue light before Circuit Court Judge Michael Baxley, records show. She was given a three year prison sentence on each charge, but it was suspended and she was ordered to complete drug court. The sentences were to run concurrently.
Topper also must pay court costs and her drivers license was suspended. She was arrested on the drug charge in April and the other charges in June.
The June charges stemmed from witnesses reporting they saw a woman take a man’s wallet from his pants pocket inside a Myrtle Beach convenience store, according to a police report.

The June 4 incident occurred at the Kangaroo Express at 1929 Mr. Joe White Ave., and police got a description of the vehicle the woman left in with a man. Officers stopped the vehicle in the 1000 block of Third Avenue South, but the woman and a man ran from the vehicle and could not be located at the time of the incident.
Two days later, police arrested Topper.
