A Georgetown man was arrested early Friday in connection with a man being stabbed the night before, according to a news release.
Dexter Glenn West, 36, was charged with attempted murder and is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center, said Deputy Russell Goodale, public information officer with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s office.
Deputies were called at 11 p.m. Thursday to the 700 block of Whitesville Road in the Rosehill section of Georgetown County, Goodale said. Deputies met with a woman on scene who advised that her boyfriend had been stabbed.
The man told police he had an altercation with West earlier in the evening in Williamsburg County, Goodale said. After that incident, West gave the man and woman a ride home.

When they arrived at the Whitesville Road home, the couple said West stabbed the man and then drove away, Goodale said. Police arrested West today at his home on Pleasant Hill Drive.
The man was taken to the Georgetown Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
