The cause of a two alarm fire that destroyed a Conway area auto body shop was ruled unintentional, said Leslie Yancey, public information officer with Horry County Fire Rescue.
The fire occurred about 2 p.m. Wednesday at D&R Auto Body & Paint located on Secondary Highway 471 and was accidentally started, Yancey said.
The fire destroyed the building and several vehicles that were inside it and because of the intensity of the fire a second alarm was called for the blaze, Yancey said. One person was working in the building when it caught fire and was able to escape without being hurt and called authorities.
A home located on the property in front of the auto body shop was not damaged, Yancey said. Authorities closed Secondary Highway 471 for about two hours for the blaze.
