A fire Wednesday afternoon destroyed an auto body shop on Highway 471 in the Conway area, but injured no one, according to Horry County Fire Rescue, spokeswoman Leslie Yancey.
Yancey said the fire that broke out around 2 p.m. at D&R Auto Body & Paint on Highway 471 consumed that building and vehicles that were inside it at the time.
The cause of the fire is not known and Yancey could not be sure where in the shop it began, she said. The blaze is being investigated.
Yancey said a second alarm had to be called on the fire because the size of the blaze demanded more resources.

She said one person who was working in the building when it caught fire got out with no injuries, and reported it to authorities.
A home located on the property in front of the auto body shop was not damaged, Yancey said.
The fire led Horry County police to block traffic from Highway 471 for at least two hours, Yancey said.
