Two men rob Dollar General store, tie up employees

Horry County police are searching for two men who robbed a Conway area department store late Tuesday, Sgt. Robert Kegler said.

Police were called at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday to the Dollar General on U.S. 701 North outside of Conway for an armed robbery, Kegler said. Two female employees told police they were walking to their vehicles after closing the store and two men, who were wearing masks, approached them.

The men had handguns and demanded the women go back inside the store, Kegler said. Once inside the store, the men tied one woman’s hands with a telephone cord while they forced the other woman to empty cash drawers and safes.

After the men got the money, they tied the second woman up and left the store, Kegler said.
