Man reports driver pointed gun at him in Myrtle Beach traffic

A 48-year-old man told Myrtle Beach police that another driver pointed a gun at him as they drove along Harrelson Boulevard, according to a police report.

The man called police at 11 a.m. Thursday to report the incident, police said.

The man told officers he was driving on U.S. 17 Bypass and merged onto Harrelson Boulevard ramp when a sports car came up behind him, according to the report. The man said he saw the driver take his hat off and reach and get something from the inside the vehicle.

The man said the driver pulled alongside him, shouted toward him and waived a gun, so the man sped up and drove into the airport, according to the report. The man said the other driver turned onto Secondary Highway 15.

Police searched the area, but did not locate the other driver.
