Estimated 10 acres of woods involved in fire off U.S. 17 Bypass in Georgetown County near Prince George subdivision

S.C. Forestry Commission officials estimate that 10 acres are burning in a woods fire in Georgetown County near U.S. 17 Bypass and Farthing Road.

State troopers have issued a smoke advisory for motorists on U.S. 17 Bypass in the area of the blaze.

Firefighters from Midway Fire Rescue are fighting a fire spreading brush fire off the Bypass in Georgetown County near the Prince George subdivision, according to the fire department’s spokesman Bob Beebe.

Beebe said the fire is the third his department has battled today, and all have been located along U.S. 17 bypass. The first two have been extinguished.
