Horry County police arrested four Loris residents in connection with a string of armed robberies in Horry County, Georgetown, Myrtle Beach and North Carolina.
The four were arrested after a Tabor City convenience store clerk was shot dead during an armed robbery Sunday night.
Horry County Police were called to Loris Community Hospital at about 9:30 p.m., shortly after being notified of the armed robbery and homicide, in response to a patient who had a gunshot wound.
The patient gave police an explanation for the gunshot that turned out not to be true and led them to further investigate, said Horry County Police Lt. Raul Denis.
