Police | 21-year-old Horry County man shot, critical condition at Charleston hospital

Horry County police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday where someone shot a man inside a vehicle, according to Lt. Raul Denis.

Officers were called about 2 p.m. Sunday to the 3000 block of Sweet Bay Road in the Longs community for a shooting, Denis said. Officers found a vehicle in the ditch with what appeared to be a bullet hole in the front passenger door.

Police later learned a 21-year-old Longs man was at Seacoast Medical Center in Little River and was being treated for gunshot wounds to his stomach and forearm, Denis said. The man was later transported to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for treatment.

On Monday, the man was listed in critical condition.
