A 27-year-old man was charged by Myrtle Beach police this weekend in connection with an armed robbery at a night club earlier this month, according to police records.
Lenwood Antonio Alston, 27, was charged Sunday with armed robbery in connection with an incident that occurred just before 3 a.m. Jan. 9 at Club Exception located at 721 N. Ocean Blvd., police said. Alston turned himself into police.
During the incident earlier this month, several club employees were still inside the club and said a man knocked on the door and came inside, according to a police report. Once inside, the man grabbed a woman by the neck and put a gun to her back and ordered the five employees into the office.
The man took money from a safe and then fled the club, according to the report. A tow truck driver told police he was about to tow a vehicle parked in the area when a man paid him a $30 towing fee and drove away, according to the report. There were other people inside that vehicle.
