Brewing good times at the beach- Myrtle Beach area brewery tours

Calling all beer lovers- sprinkled around the Grand Strand you’ll find a few breweries that now offer on-site tours thanks to a new law made effective in July. If you’re 21 and older, stop by and tap into some fun at these free local tours available around the beach.

New South Brewing Company

851 Campbell, Myrtle Beach

Tuesdays and Thursdays

3-5:30 p.m.

This local microbrewery, which started in 1998, features four premium brews: White Ale, Nut Brown Ale, Lager, and India Pale Ale, as well as two seasonal selections throughout the year. Try New South’s Oktoberfest, available from August to November, or Dark Star, available from December to March. Join the brewery for free samples, a 30-minute tour of the brewery and an explanation of the beer making process, and finish with a visit to the retail store to take a growler or six-pack home with you. Next time you’re visiting The Market Common, stop in and ask for a manager to take a tour of the on-site brewery. Tours are available any time during operating hours, but Gordon Biersch advises large groups wishing to tour to call ahead and reserve time.
