A 23-year-old Loris man was given a suspended prison sentence and ordered to serve two years on probation for charges of assault and use of a vehicle without permission, according to court records.
Jason Lee Mishoe pleaded guilty before Circuit Court Judge Benjamin Culbertson to assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and the vehicle charge, records show.
Culbertson sentenced Mishoe to 18 months in prison, but suspended that sentence upon his service of two years of probation for the assault charge and ordered him to serve a year in prison, but suspended that sentence for a year of probation. The sentences will run concurrently.
Mishoe also was given credit for time he’s previously served, ordered to pay court costs and $750 restitution for the vehicle charge, records show. Mishoe also must be placed on the Central Registry of Child Abuse and Neglect for the assault charge and have no contact with the victim.

Mishoe was arrested March 31 on the assault charge and April 17 on the vehicle charge, records show. Details about the circumstances surrounding the charges were not available.
