Armed man robs Myrtle Beach nightclub

An armed man robbed a Myrtle Beach nightclub early Sunday, according to a police report.

The man knocked on the rear door of Club Exception located at 721 N. Ocean Blvd., just before 3 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Several employees were still inside the club and one of them opened the door and the man grabbed the woman by the neck and put a gun to her back, according to the report. The man ordered the five employees into the office, took money from a safe and then fled the club.

A tow truck driver told police he was about to tow a vehicle parked in the area when a man paid him a $30 towing fee and drove away, according to the report. There were other people inside that vehicle.

Police were obtaining video surveillance from the club and searching for the vehicle seen by the tow truck driver, according to the report.
