Employee interrupts burglary at Myrtle Beach electronic store

An employee of AVAC told police he was sleeping in the rear of the business when he heard someone break into the store located on Mr. Joe White Avenue, according to a police report.

Someone cut a hole into a wall of the store and stole three flat screen televisions before the employee interrupted them and they ran away at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, police said. Two of the three televisions were found along the fence in the rear of the building.

A Myrtle Beach police tracking dog followed the suspect to the area of Sandy Gate Apartments but did not find the suspect, according to the report. The employee told police he was sleeping when he heard some noises.

The employee said he walked around the warehouse area, but did not find anything, according to the report. A short time later the employee heard noises again and saw a shadow of someone and the hole in the wall when he yelled at the person.
