A hotel clerk told police a young man tried to rob him with a gun that did not look real, according to a police report.
The 72-year-old man told police he was making coffee in the room adjacent to the front office of the Super Eight Motel located at 2711 S. Ocean Blvd., at 11 p.m. Thursday when the young man ran the door bell, police said.
The man said he saw the suspect holding a small revolver, but the gun did not appear to be real, according to the report. The man said the suspect had his hair and face covered and he demanded money.
The man said he told the suspect he didn’t have any money and the suspect ran across the road and met another person, who also looked very young. The two ran away.
