An 8-year-old boy stopped a Myrtle Beach police officer Thursday evening to report that a man and woman were arguing and that the man held a crowbar and hammer during the incident, according to a police report.
The boy told the officer he wanted him to stay because he did not want the couple to fight when police left, police said. The incident occurred about 6:40 p.m. Thursday in the 6300 block of Hawthorne Way.
The officer spoke with the 33-year-old woman, who said she argued with the 32-year-old man because she let a friend borrow $40, according to the report. The woman said during the argument the man picked up a tire iron and held it at his side.
She said he never threatened her verbally or with the tire iron, and she refused to write a statement regarding the incident.
