Horry County police are investigating Molotov cocktails used to start a fire at a Socastee area home, according to a police report.
Horry County firefighters and police were called to the home on Misty Lane about 3 a.m. Wednesday after someone set the kitchen window and porch on fire at the house, according to authorities.
Two women, ages 35 and 36, were inside the home at the time of the incident and reported hearing a loud noise before they saw there were flames on the rear porch, according to the report. Police saw Molotov cocktails were on the walkway to the back door and porch and it appeared they were used to start the fire.
A window was broke and chair cushion on the porch burned during the incident, according to the report. Damage was estimated at $150.
