Brunswick County deputies warn of roads made dangerous because of rain

Motorists should use caution when driving and not travel unless absolutely necessary because of flooding in the area, according to a statement from the Brunswick County Sheriff's office.

April M. Stanley, public information officer for the sheriff's office, said deputies will be patrolling our roads closely tonight because the weather has made certain areas hazardous. She said, due to road closures and localized flooded areas road conditions in the county have become unsafe.

The Sheriff's Office is working directly with Brunswick County Emergency Services monitoring the weather conditions throughout the evening into the morning.

She said Brunswick County residents should check local news stations and websites for updates on road closures, flooding zones and school schedules.

If an emergency arises, or if you need any assistance during these weather conditions please contact your local law enforcement agency or 9-1-1.
