Man tells police he was robbed, beaten in Myrtle Beach

A 43-year-old Myrtle Beach man told police he was walking to the store when two men drove up next to him and robbed and assaulted him, according to a police report.

The man told police he was in the area of 25th Avenue North and Kings Highway about 3 a.m. Tuesday when the three men drove up next to him, police said.

The man said he thought they were asking for directions, but when he got closer to the vehicle two men jumped out and began fighting with him, according to the report. The man said the suspects stole cash from his pockets before he was able to break free from them.

The man said he ran back to his home in the 27th block of North Kings Highway and called police, according to the report. The man’s shirt was torn, but he said he was not hurt during the incident.
