Myrtle Beach police searched for a man who drove up and took a woman’s purse from her shopping cart outside a grocery store, according to a police report.

The 68-year-old woman from Raleigh, N.C., told police she was loading groceries into her vehicle about 5:45 p.m. Monday at the Food Lion located at 7631 N. Kings Highway when the incident occurred, police said.

The woman said her purse was sitting in the child’s seat of the shopping cart and she was standing next to the vehicle and the cart, according to the report. The woman and her 87-year-old husband told police the man drove up next to them, reached out his window and grabbed her purse before he drove away.

The couple were not hurt during the incident. The woman's purse contained cash, a cell phone and various credit cards.
