Thieves steal nearly 100 bottles of liquor from Myrtle Beach store

Three men broke into a Myrtle Beach liquor store and stole 97 bottles of alcohol valued at $2,627, according to a police report.

Police responded to an alarm inside Owens Liquors located at 8000 N. Kings Highway at 2:40 a.m. Saturday for the incident, according to the report released Thursday. An officer found the front glass door was smashed, but no one was inside the building.

Video surveillance showed three men, who had large plastic bins, enter the store after one man used a hammer to break the door, according to the report. The men then filled the bins with bottles of vodka, rum and whiskey before they were seen walking out of the store.
