Myrtle Beach man charged with assault on EMS worker

A Myrtle Beach EMS worker told police a 51-year-old man fondled her and then tried to assault her when she tried to help him after being called because he said he was in pain, according to a police report.

Jeffrey Brian Miller, 51, of Myrtle Beach was arrested at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for simple assault after the incident which occurred about 1 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

The 38-year-old EMS worker told police she was called to Ninth Avenue and Chester Street by police who were with Miller because he complained of gallbladder and knee pain, according to the report. The woman said Miller appeared to be intoxicated and when she tried to take his blood pressure he grabbed her breast.

She said told Miller to stop and he did it again before he was placed on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance, according to the report. The woman said when she was monitoring Miller he became upset and wanted out of the ambulance. She said Miller tried to punch her during the incident.
