A Myrtle Beach man was charged with assault and public intoxication at Broadway at the Beach after a woman told police he hit her, according to a police report.
Kevin Lee Chestnut, 38, was charged with public intoxication and two counts of third-degree assault and battery after officers were called to the security office about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, police said.
A 21-year-old Myrtle Beach woman told police Chestnut grabbed her breast twice and when he did not stop she pushed him away from her, according to the report. The woman said Chestnut then punched her in the face, which broke her glasses and knocked her down.
The woman's 30-year-old fiance told police he saw Chestnut hit her and he pushed Chestnut away, but was punched several times before security detained all of them, according to the report. Chestnut told police he was assaulted for no reason and that he never touched the woman.
