Man charged with punching Myrtle Beach ATM

A New York man was charged with damaging an automated teller machine at a BB&T bank branch office, according to a police report.

Sean M. Marvin, 22, of Allegany, N.Y., was charged with destruction to real property after a taxi cab driver called police to report Marvin and two others were being disorderly in the cab, police said.

The driver told police she picked up Marvin and the two other men at Broadway at the Beach and took them to the ATM at 2619 Oak St. where Marvin punched the ATM because he got upset when he tried to retrieve money from it, according to the report. The woman took the men to a motel and then called police to report the incident.

Police noted the ATM screen was broken and damage was estimated at $500.
