A 40-year-old Myrtle Beach woman told police her cousin hit her several times with a large wooden stick during a drug-related incident, according to a police report.

The woman told police she was walking along Graham Avenue near Dunbar Street between 12 and 2 a.m. Wednesday when she saw her cousin standing in the middle of the road talking to someone in a vehicle, police said.

The woman said her cousin came up behind her and struck her several times on the elbow and leg, which caused several cuts and bruises, according to the report. The woman waited until 11 a.m. to call police to report the incident.

The woman was treated at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center and told police the incident was drug-related, according to the report. Police planned to seek an arrest warrant for the 27-year-old man involved in the incident.
