A Little River man was indicted by an Horry County grand jury on a charge he used a handgun during the commission of a violent crime, according to court records.
Allen Justin Brown, 20, was indicted on the charge after the grand jury met late last week, according to records. Brown is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center on $35,000 bail.
The charge stemmed from June 7 when police said a 35-year-old man told officers he was robbed as he walked along S.C. 90 near St. Joseph Road, police said. At the time of his arrest Brown was charged with armed robbery.
The man said Brown and another man approached him, and one of the men had a gun and demanded his money, according to the report. The man said he gave the men his money before he ran away.
