Two women asked for directions, stole Myrtle Beach woman’s purse

A 20-year-old Myrtle Beach woman told police two women took her purse and assaulted her after she stopped to give them directions, according to a police report.

The woman said she was walking in the 400 block of Flagg Street when the two women asked her for directions to Coastal Grand Mall, police said. The woman said one of the suspects grabbed her purse and the other grabbed her wrists.

The woman said she fought back against the women, but they punched her in the face and chest and ripped her clothing during the incident, according to the report. The woman said she screamed and when people in the area came toward her the suspects ran to a nearby vehicle and left.
