Georgetown County authorities are searching for a man who robbed a convenience store early Monday after telling the clerk he needed medicine for a toothache, according to the sheriff’s office.
A man armed with a gun went into the 521 Mini Mart located at 9275 High Market St., about 2 a.m. Monday and asked the clerk for the medicine, police said.
The woman told police the man wore a black beret hat, black sunglasses, a black coat and used what she thought was a baby wipe to cover his face, according to the report. The woman said the man pulled out the gun, demanded money from the register and then walked away from the store.
Police searched the area, but did not find the man.
