A man cleaning grass off of his sidewalk was assaulted when a man tried to rob him on Saturday in Myrtle Beach, according to a police report.
The victim said the suspect approached him at the Third Avenue South location and asked to use his lighter. When the victim put down his leafblower and reached into his pocket, the suspect demanded his wallet, the report shows.
The suspect punched the victim in the right side of the face, but the victim was able to push the suspect off of him.
The suspect ran away from the scene, the report shows.
The victim suffered a cut on his face and was treated at the scene.
