The investigation into a fatal crash that killed a Longs man on U.S. 501 in Conway continued Friday, said Catina Hipp, Conway police public information officer.
Marc Tyler Neidig, 26, of Longs, was pronounced dead at 10:05 a.m. Thursday at Georgetown Memorial Hospital from multiple traumas to his body and head, Horry County Coroner Robert Edge said.
Neidig was being flown by helicopter to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston when his condition got worse and emergency officials landed in Georgetown for his treatment, Edge said.
The crash occurred at 8 a.m. Thursday in the southbound lanes of U.S. 501 at East Cox Ferry Road, and emergency officials closed U.S. 501 for about 90 minutes, Hipp said.

One person was taken by ambulance to Conway Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, Hipp said. That person did not suffer life-threatening injuries, she said.
Conway police asked for the assistance of the S.C. Highway Patrol's Multi-Disciplinary Accident Investigation Team in the investigation of that crash, Hipp said. No charges had been filed in the crash as of Friday and more details are expected to be released when the investigation is complete.
