Myrtle Beach police charge Gaffney man with choking woman

A 38-year-old Gaffney man was charged with criminal domestic violence in Myrtle Beach after officers learned he choked his girlfriend, according to a police report.

Jamie Dale Patterson, 38, was charged with criminal domestic violence after officers were called at 11 p.m. Wednesday to the Bermuda Sands Motel at 104 N. Ocean Blvd., police said.

Patterson’s 48-year-old girlfriend told police they argued and he grabbed her by the throat and choked her, according to the report. The woman’s son grabbed Patterson off of her.

The woman had red marks on her throat and a cut to her foot, according to the report. Patterson, who was intoxicated, told police nothing occurred and refused to speak to police.
