Armed gunman robs Myrtle Beach motel

Myrtle Beach police are searching for an armed gunman who robbed a motel clerk late Monday, according to authorities.

Officers were called at 10 p.m. Monday to the Boardwalk Beach Resort at 2301 N. Ocean Blvd., where a man armed with a gun demanded money from the clerk, police said.

Myrtle Beach police are looking into possible links of the robbery with at least three other similar incidents that have occurred during this month, Capt. David Knipes said.

In Monday night’s incident, the man went to the counter and asked about getting a room, according to the report. The clerk noticed the man was wearing a glove and said the man pulled a gun and demanded money before he ordered her to the floor.

The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money, according to the report. The man also pointed a gun at another employee who was walking from the back.
