Myrtle Beach police search for armed robber (with video)

Myrtle Beach police are searching for a man suspected in at least two armed robberies, according to Capt. David Knipes.

The most recent incident occurred Wednesday at the Holiday Shores at 7501 N. Ocean Blvd., Knipes said.

A man went into the hotel office and asked about a room, Knipes said. The man then left and returned soon afterward. The man pulled a gun from under his shirt and demanded money from the hotel employee.

The man took money from the cash register before he left the office and ran away.

Knipes said the man may be the same person who robbed a payday lender during the weekend.

In that incident a man armed with a handgun robbed a check cashing business about 2 p.m. Saturday at 1519 N. Kings Highway, police said. The robber forced the employee to the ground and took all the money in the cash drawer before running from the business.
