Georgetown County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a report of an attempted abduction in Murrells Inlet, but no one was charged late Wednesday.
Deputy Russell Goodale, spokesman for the sheriff's office, said police found the reported suspect, and the victim on Wednesday and had talked with both of them, but an investigation is ongoing.
Someone reported that the suspect tried to take the girl from Peony Circle in the Murrells Inlet area while she was outside. The girl was not injured, Goodale said.
He said the incident happened around 7 p.m. and later the girl noticed the vehicle that was driven by the person who tried to take her. The vehicle was on the same street where the abduction attempt occurred, according to Goodale.
