One person is in custody after Horry County police stopped the man in connection with an armed robbery at a Conway area tobacco shop, said Lt. Myron Creel.
The incident occurred about 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Tobacco Mart located on S.C. 544 in the Conway area of Horry County, Creel said. A witness to the incident followed the suspect and using information provided from the witness Horry County police conducted a traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was detained and arrested in connection with the armed robbery, Creel said. He is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center pending formal charges being filed.
More information about the suspect will be released once the person is formally charged.

Police recovered a toy pistol, knife and undisclosed amount of money from the vehicle, Creel said. No one was hurt during the incident.
