A Georgetown County woman was arrested after deputies seized 46 dogs from her property, according to a police report.

Patricia Gail Cather, 57, of 596 Wister Road was charged with seven counts of cruelty to animals after deputies responded to her home several times since July 28 and found the dogs in various pens without proper shelter, food or water, police said.

On Friday, Georgetown County Sheriff deputies and officials with the St. Francis Humane Society seized the animals, which included several puppies, according to the report. The animals will be treated and processed by the humane society.

Officers were first called to the house July 28 for an animal welfare check and found dogs caged behind the house, on a porch and inside the home, according to the report.
