Women report man assaulted them inside Myrtle Beach apartment

Two Myrtle Beach women told police a man assaulted them when they went to an apartment to get clothing, according to a police report.

The women, ages 33 and 31, told police they went to the Calypso Inn at 302 N. First Ave., about 4:45 p.m. Monday to get clothing for the older woman, who had minor surgery earlier in the day, police said. The younger woman as taking the woman to her home to care for her while she recovered.

The older woman’s boyfriend was at the apartment putting down new flooring and was intoxicated, according to the report. The woman and man argued and the man grabbed the younger woman, threw her to floor and punched her in the face.

The older woman said she tried to pull the man off the other woman and he began punching her, according to the report. The younger woman hit the man with a can of beer and the women were able to run out of the apartment.

The younger woman suffered a broken jaw and nose and was treated at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
