A 29-year-old Columbia man was charged with damaging a Myrtle Beach hotel door after he told police he didn’t know how strong he was when he knocked on the door along Ocean Boulevard, according to a police report.
Anthony Wayne Parker was charged with malicious injury to property after police were called to the Econo Lodge at 1401 S. Ocean Blvd. for a broken door frame, police said.
When police located Parker, who was intoxicated, he told officers he did not break the door, but then stated that “he just didn’t know how strong he was,” according to the report. The door to the hotel office was damaged.
Officers noted that the door’s glass was not broken, but the frame of the door was bent.
