Four people were rescued from a catamaran in the Atlantic Ocean by Horry County and Myrtle Beach police during the weekend, according to Horry County Sgt. Robert Kegler.
At 4:30 p.m. Sunday, the beach patrol officers were notified of an overturned catamaran with several people in distress near 72nd Avenue North, Kegler said. Officers from both departments launched jet skis into the ocean and went toward the catamaran.
The Horry County officer rescued two of the people and the Myrtle Beach officer rescued the other two, Kegler said. The catamaran was towed back to shore.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
