Myrtle Beach police arrested a 46-year-old man on charges he choked and threatened a 49-year-old woman with a kitchen knife because she had refused to give him car keys, according to records.
Ricky Allen Cooper was arrested and charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, according to Myrtle Beach jail records.
The charges stemmed from a woman, who called police at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday to the 600 block of 37th Avenue North, after Cooper had assaulted her and threatened her with a knife, police said.
The woman told police she was in bed watching television when the man came into the room, demanded the vehicle keys and threatened her. The woman said she refused to give him the keys so he jumped on her and began punching her in the face, according to the report. The woman said she managed to get the man off of her and he went to the kitchen got a knife and held her on the bed again.

The woman said the man tried to stab her and threatened to kill her if she did not give him the keys, according to the report. The man got the keys and ran out of the home. He was not in the area when police arrived and the woman was treated by EMS at the scene.
