Myrtle Beach police sought a warrant for a 46-year-old man who choked and threatened a 49-year-old woman with a kitchen knife because she initially refused to give him keys to a vehicle, according to a police report.
The woman called police at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday to the 600 block of 37th Avenue North after the man had left the house, police said. The woman told police she was in bed watching television when the man came into the room, demanded the vehicle keys and threatened her.
The woman said she refused to give him the keys so he jumped on her and began punching her in the face, according to the report. The woman said she managed to get the man off of her and he went to the kitchen got a knife and held her on the bed again.
The woman said the man tried to stab her and threatened to kill her if she did not give him the keys, according to the report. The man got the keys and ran out of the home. He was not in the area when police arrived and the woman was treated by EMS at the scene.
