A Kentucky woman was arrested by Myrtle Beach police after her 65-year-old husband told police she attacked him, choked him and accused him of going to the beach to look for other women, according to a police report.
Phyllis Jean Kingsmore, 63, of Louisa, Ky., was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature after officers were called at 7:30 p.m. Monday to the Crown Reef at 2913 S. Ocean Blvd., police said.
Kingsmore told police her husband had been drinking all day and when she refused to go to the beach with him he got upset and attacked her, according to the report. She said she scratched and choked the man to get him off her before he threw her out of the room.
The man told police Kingsmore got upset with him after he returned to the room from the beach and accused him of looking for other women and drinking with them, according to the report. The man said the woman scratched, hit him and then choked him before he pushed her off of him because he had difficult time breathing.
The man said Kingsmore left the room and then called police. The officer noted he did not see any injuries to Kingsmore and determined she was the primary aggressor in the incident.
