A Myrtle Beach man was charged with first-degree assault and battery after a man reported being hit in the head with a beer bottle at an Ocean Boulevard apartment, according to a police report.
Robert R. Johnson, 48, was arrested after police found a 53-year-old man with a cut on his head that was bleeding outside 919 N. Ocean Blvd., police said. The victim told police Johnson knocked on his door, threatened him and then threw a beer bottle at him.
Johnson told police he threw the bottle at the victim because the victim had a baseball bat, according to the report. A witness told police she heard Johnson threaten the victim, but she didn’t see the altercation.
