Surfside Beach police identify vehicle in credit card fraud

Surfside Beach police continue to investigate a vehicle burglary and credit card theft and identified a vehicle they are searching for in connection with the incident, according to a release issued Friday.

Surveillance photos showed a white or cream colored four door sedan, which appeared to be a Nissan, in the area when the suspect used the victim’s credit card at Conway National Bank in Surfside Beach, police said.

On July 10, police were called to 13th Avenue South and Ocean Boulevard for a motor vehicle break-in in which a wallet was stolen, according to authorities. Two days later, police learned the victim’s debit/credit card was used at the bank branch located at 425 U.S. 17 North in Surfside Beach after the vehicle burglary.

A woman withdrew $300 from the victim’s account and police believe she may have been driving the vehicle they are searching for, according to the release.

Anyone with information about the woman, the vehicle or the incident can call Surfside Beach Police at 913-6368.
