Conway police are investigating the robbery of a convenience store clerk, who was attacked from behind and more than $5,000 was stolen, according to a police report.
The 45-year-old woman told police she had left the store and was going to make a deposit from Gullies Shell station No. 12 at 1200 S.C. 544 when someone grabbed her from behind at 11 a.m. Monday outside the store, police said.
The woman said the suspect grabbed the bank bag that contained cash and ran away, according to the report. The woman didn’t see the person since she was attacked from behind.
Store officials are offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect in the case, said Catina Hipp, Conway police spokeswoman.
