Police | Dispute over jukebox leads to Myrtle Beach man’s arrest

A Myrtle Beach man was charged with assault after police say he struck another man with a beer bottle outside a club.

Kenya Lee Lewis, 36, was charged with second-degree assault after officers were called about 12:10 a.m. Tuesday to Club Congo at 1300 Carver St., police said.

A 46-year-old Myrtle Beach man told police he had been at the club for about an hour when Lewis threatened him, according to the report. The man said he was standing outside the club waiting for someone to pick him up when Lewis came outside and hit him in the head with a beer bottle.

The man said he called police and Lewis left the area, but police found him at the corner of Hemingway Street and Graham Avenue, according to the report. Lewis told police he argued with the man about the jukebox and they fought outside the club.

The man was treated for a cut to his head and later taken to an area hospital.
