Opening statements are set to begin today in the trial of a 35-year-old Murrells Inlet man charged with murder and armed robbery in the 2005 death of a 24-year-old man, according to court officials.
The trial for Tyrone Beaty is scheduled to begin today in Conway. He is charged in the October 2005 death of Miles Slay. Two other men, Corey Smalls and his cousin, Antonio Smalls, also face similar charges in the death.
Slay’s body was found inside a Toyota Highlander parked at the Masonic Lodge No. 421 on Butler Road in Socastee on Oct. 21, 2005.
