Nicholas Ellwanger, 6, of Summerville died Sunday at the Medical University of South Carolina, Horry County Coroner Robert Edge said. The boy suffered complications after he nearly drown June 24 while in a swimming pool at Oceanside Village.
At the time of the incident the boy had a pulse and was taken to Waccamaw Regional Medical Center after he was rescued from an Oceanside Village pool, according to officials. The boy was then transported by helicopter to MUSC where he had been treated.
